The uncomfortable truth is that you need some insight into your own motivations and interests in order to create a successful business that can develop. Try these 3 steps to prepare for it.
1 Ask yourself some basic questions about what attracts you towards certain niches and actions, and which others turn you off and drive you away. Although it’s not always best to start a business simply because a product or topic interests you, unless you consciously know what does and does not interest you, it’s too easy to slip into something which attracts you. However, you need to know if there are enough buyers for what you have to sell – if not, it’s an obvious waste of time.
2 What deeply moves you to action need not be a particular type of product or topic. In fact, you need not have any particular interest in these at all. Your obsession or deep interest may be the type of marketing you use, such as writing articles and other content based marketing. On the other hand, search engine optimization may be your passion. You can use your marketing passion to sell affiliate products only. In other words, find out what that deep interest is which will be the motivator for you taking action.
3 Uncover what areas you are strongest in and weakest in. Whatever strengths you find, use those as a base for your business and build on them, developing them as much as you can. For your weaknesses, ignore them as much as you can and don’t include them, if you can do so, in your business at all, or outsource their actions where you can.
